Frequently asked questions about Roman shades

Roman shades offer a drapery aesthetic, but with more versatility in terms of light control. They look great on their own or paired with side panels or drapery.

The classic look of Roman shades means they will never fall out of style.

You’ll find Roman shades in an expansive selection of colours and fabric types, including exclusive collections with unique colours, textures and designs.

You can tailor the amount of light in a room by opting for a light-filtering or room-darkening fabric or liner. Optional enhancements, such as two different fabric opacities on one roller, also let you create just the right amount of light in a room.

You can mount Roman shades either inside or outside of the window frame. Mounting your shades inside the frame lets you showcase the window’s trim—just keep in mind that you will have a small light gap on each side of the shade (so that the fabric moves smoothly). Mounting your shades on the outside of the frame helps eliminate that light gap when you lower them.

Roman shades are available to fit specialty-shaped windows; the type of shape will depend on the style of the Roman shade.

A regular, light dusting will help keep your shades looking like new.
